Placing your success in school
A design rule that most kids do not know is that when hanging a picture, you want the image to fill the frame and the frame to complete the room. Although this article is not about school design, this example illustrates the three elements that must work together to create an image work. The three parallel dynamic that must work together for a martial arts school for a chance anywhere in the region are, hire, and space.
If you're in the wrong place or in the wrong part of a good place, you can not generate the traffic you need, regardless of their space. If you pay rent as well, you start struggling to survive each month to the next. This kills cash flow.
Too often, the new owners build their Most school high school and fantasy have always dreamed built. Is it a classic case of Eyes Black Belt. We are building the school belt Black for our friends and ourselves, instead of our target market.
The area you choose for your business is martial arts match the market you want achieve. There is a difference between the areas most suitable for an adult kickboxing School, a school for children and a school aimed at executives rich. The school would be better kickboxing surrounded by villas and apartments. The school will be triangulated by the public schools in the neighborhoods of detached houses. The type of frames richest possible education need a room in a health center in the financial district, provided there is sufficient potential managers to support the idea.
Consider some markets and what kind of school best suited to this market. Note that there are exceptions to the rule, and what are the general rules inches.
The city
Small towns are about 50,000 people or less. If you are good to develop a name, it is much easier to do in a small town like this than in large, more competitive regions. In some rural areas there is not much for children, families and adults to do that in large cities, so your school can become a recreational and social center of the city.
In addition, martial arts schools in small towns do not have much competition. Can be a class at the YMCA or school on time, but are often managed as a penchant for black belts who love teaching, but have no immediate plans as a full-time professional.
Some areas, like the city I live in Florida, are the small cities as defined here, but they are surrounded by the population with the highest density of small towns, to expand the market potential. In these areas, the rent is usually affordable - even in cities rich, which is great news your cash flow. Cost of living tends to be much less if you can live comfortably with much less. In fact, compared to big cities which could provide a high standard of living in a small town could not even get a small apartment in a big city.
Little City
The city with a large population is 50,000-100,000 a sweet spot for many schools. These areas can be gold mines of a school in good standing. These areas are often primarily middle-income with pockets of high and low incomes. Because they share many of the benefits of the small town, it is easier to build your name and less expensive on the market, and rents are lower than those of large cities. Also, because the area is larger, more potential locations to choose from.
City size
The city with a population of 100,000-250,000 may be more expensive and not easy as entering markets small. But the population density has increased and the largest number of potential sites for these major markets for school performance. Competition will be higher, but chances are, if you are a member of MATA, has what it takes to be the worst of all in the coming years. Even if not number one, yet There is plenty to go around.
Big City
To paraphrase the song, "If you can do there, go anywhere ...." Large cities have their own advantages and disadvantages. Competition will be strong and high rent. If you can find the right space for rent, and you're a good teacher with a system strong business density, high population can serve as a valuable competitive advantage for you.
The largest I've seen is the school in central Tigre Shulmann Manhattan. This is a site of 20,000 square meters on three floors to form a government and coffee. Neither the school of Billy Blanks' Ventura, California, or the school principal Krav Maga in Los Angeles, California, are almost as big as Tiger, but both have excellent locations and are packed with students. Billy must have a support chamber, because he is busy all day. A few years ago, I Tae Bo course within 10 hours with 67 other people, mostly women. Class after ours was taught by Billy and had more than 100 students lined up to it. All this was before lunch!
I use these examples do not mean you must have a place and the school as any of them. I just want to know what the highest level of competition is higher in metropolitan areas, Los Angeles and New York.
