Seth Rogan - Roll male model?

You might be surprised how many letters I receive from women that begin, "I recently met very nice with this guy ... "And ends with" How I can get me to ask them out? "

And then, maybe not, especially if you are a woman.

It seems that modern man is but lacks basic knowledge of how men approach women, how to build relationship and connection, how to get numbers, dates and sex, how to build and manage relationships, and generally how to be a man.

Women are very aware of that too! They keep wondering why men have become friends and while seeming to be more interested, do nothing to things happen.

In fact, there is no simple answer to this: I call it the "figure of Seth Rogan. It's unfortunate, but men and models roll modern seem to be the son of film and television. These guys are inept, crazy, donkey, cheats, bullies, fools and children. Some role models!

"But in reality, Dr. Neder, say that the impact on men?"

Of course I am! I'm trying to see every day of the tons of letters I receive from readers of my books and papers and the viewers of my show BAM! TV. What I see more men who do not know how to treat women, build relationships and to treat, manage conflict, etc. If you come do not know how to ask what they want. If they ask, who do not know how to proceed. If the wife hanging around waiting, the man finally everything stops just because he does not know what the next step should be.

But until now much common is the type that just do not expect women to do their job for him.

It takes many forms. Here are some examples:

"Friend"

It's a little trick where the guy who does not understand how women think, tries to make friends with him instead of going for what they really want. There is little hope that cozy corner for her, she will see what a good guy he is, falls in love with him, do his job for him and not take risks.

"Missed Call"

This is the kind fear, lack of a plan or simple ignorance, lies in the opportunity before it is too late. Waiting weeks and then you realize, you probably forgot about it (and probably did) and therefore do nothing and wait for another chance in the future.

"The Hang-out

This is similar to the "friend" above. It is too afraid of rejection to ask what to do (in real time), so I invited to "hang" in place. This is low risk because it resembles some friends gather. In fact, pay off everything, like a real date, but not to forward. He expects her to kiss it (he did, because she knows it work if more than "hang") and the two go home frustrated.

Most of our parents grew up with strong male role models. Political character and sports heroes have male models to work from - and therefore both women as well. It is unfortunate that most kids today roll models look much more like Seth Rogan, John Wayne, and women, and even more than men suffer for it.

Check out the popular media today as an example. When he saw the male characters do not hear you talk like men, but women! The dialog box that receive and even in situations women are in nature. When you're sitting talking to the kids, you never hear talk like they do on TV or in films!

When you look at classic male archetypes like James Bond or even super heroes and compare between now and 20 years ago, something amazing seems to come out: the man of today is more clumsy and the child seems archetypal accidentally and unwillingly become the winner of the man who decides the direction and goes directly into a reality. Even sports heroes that kids tend to create more drama - not those with the greatest capacity and skills.

Are there exceptions to this? Sure, but the exceptions are largely offset by the status quo.

The new role model

Here are some movies or reality TV programs with this kind of impact on masculinity of an entire generation? Well, believe this: advertisers know the truth. If the repeated viewing of a 30-second ad can sell a product, you can repeat the exhibition of the 30 - or 60 - or ways of life of 90 minutes that you sell? It's scary when you think!

If you guys try to find a role model, Where do they go? It is increasingly evident that they have to leave the realm of traditional media and the pursuit of these other entertainment. The Internet and cordless tools (such as telephones) are some places to do this and you will see that television, newspapers, magazines and movies are losing followers committed because of this new medium. This does not mean that lack the bad examples though. As these media growing importance in our culture, programming largest river makes its way to them - right along with negative messages.

This means that consumers of entertainment must be educated in search of these messages, to realize what they represent and to vote with their eyes - and dollars - to demand a better score male models. This should not be not only men, however, but women too!

This an important theme of my own show, "Man" ( http://BeingAMan.tv ) and is something I harp on each episode. It is very difficult to fight the avalanche of bad examples with some good, but it has to start somewhere.

Why? Simple ...

Do not women deserve something better?

Every day I hear about women who are frustrated by the kind of men they are. They honestly believe the kids are great here, but can not seem to find them. Not that women should be used here - are consumers of entertainment nature and have much to do with programming options - but the ultimate responsibility rests with you guys.

We make our own decisions to be better men. It can begin at any of a number of ways, including careful choice of programming to absorb, but does not stop there.

Find real roll models and promote their ideals with other children is the beginning. Learning solid performance, a man responsible is a big part of the mission and each action every decision, every faith that motivates us in this direction makes us better - for women.

Johnny Knoxville isn't exactly known for cultivating high-brow humor with his MTV prankfests, so it's a nice surprise to find that the soundtrack to his equally outrageous Jackass movie doesn't rely on simplistic stupidity. Instead, the compilation plucks less-mainstream rock and punk speedballs that encourage headbanging and slam dancing with actual finesse. The Jackass theme song, twanged b...

Some critics see the success of Jackass: The Movie as the last nail in the coffin of civilization, and they're probably right. Johnny Knoxville (Jackass, A Dirty Shame) stars as a man who pretends to be mentally challenged so he can fix the Special Olympics. This is sometimes a source of strength, as some of...
